Couple, no car. Want night market walks and calm swimming. Is south too far from the action every night?

Central near Hilton/night market if you hate tuk-tuks. Khao Takiab if you want calm beach and will songthaew north for dinners. Both work — central is practical, Takiab is peaceful.
