By creating an account or using Meet Locale, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Community Guidelines. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Who we are
Meet Locale ("we", "us", "our") operates a social platform that helps travelers and locals connect, share tips, join activities, and stay safe while exploring. These terms govern your access to meetlocale.com and related apps and services (collectively, the "Service").
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Meet Locale. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate. You may not use the Service if you have been previously banned or if doing so would violate applicable law.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@meetlocale.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may sign in with email and password or, where offered, Google OAuth. When you use Google sign-in, we receive basic profile information as described in our Privacy Policy.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Profile. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile and associated content, subject to limited retention described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of content you post (photos, questions, messages, activity listings, etc.). By posting, you grant Meet Locale a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content solely to operate and improve the Service.
You represent that you have the rights to post your content and that it does not infringe others' rights or violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
5. Community conduct
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. Harassment, hate speech, scams, spam, impersonation, and sharing others' private information without consent are prohibited.
We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or pose a safety risk. We are not obligated to monitor all content but may do so to keep the community safe.
6. Verification & women-only spaces
Some features — including access to women-only activities and spaces — require identity verification. You agree to submit accurate verification documents when requested and not to misrepresent your identity.
Women-only spaces are reserved for members who have completed verification and meet the eligibility criteria we publish in-product. Attempting to circumvent these controls is a serious violation and may result in immediate account termination.
7. Location, safety & SOS features
Meet Locale may use destination and location data you provide or choose to share to show relevant people, activities, and safety tools. Live location sharing and SOS links are optional features you control.
When you generate a live-location share link, anyone with that link may view your shared location for the duration you set. You are responsible for who you share links with.
Safety tools are provided for convenience and do not replace emergency services. In an emergency, contact local authorities first.
8. Activities & meetups
Users may create and join activities and meetups. Meet Locale facilitates discovery and communication but is not the organizer, host, or insurer of in-person events unless we explicitly state otherwise.
You participate in real-world meetups at your own risk. Use good judgment, meet in public places when possible, and report concerns through in-app reporting tools.
9. Messaging & realtime features
The Service includes direct messaging, activity chats, and realtime notifications delivered via technologies such as Laravel Reverb and Pusher. Do not use these channels for unlawful, abusive, or unsolicited commercial messages.
10. Third-party services
We integrate with third-party providers (for example Google for sign-in, and infrastructure providers for hosting and realtime delivery). Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and privacy policies.
11. Intellectual property
Meet Locale's name, logo, design, and software are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or resell the Service except as expressly permitted.
12. Termination
You may stop using Meet Locale at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect users and the platform.
Sections that by nature should survive termination (including disclaimers and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, accuracy of user-generated content, or suitability of any activity or connection for your purposes.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meet Locale and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of the Service, interactions with other users, or in-person meetups.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
16. Contact & governing law
For legal questions about these Terms, contact support@meetlocale.com.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where Meet Locale operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where mandatory consumer protections in your country apply, they remain unaffected.
