Question
Bangkok
Sukhumvit or Chinatown for a first-time stay?
Husband and I have 5 nights before heading south. torn between staying near Asok BTS for easy transit vs Yaowarat for the food scene. We're mid-30s, not party people. Which area would you pick and why?

Sukhumvit near Asok or Phrom Phong for your first visit. You can BTS/MRT everywhere and Grab to Chinatown for dinner — Yaowarat is best after 6pm anyway, you don't need to sleep there. Chinatown is amazing but noisy, harder transit, fewer mid-range hotels.
Third option: Silom/Sathorn. Sala Daeng BTS, walk to Lumphini, easy boat to Old Town. Food on Charoen Krung is underrated. Still Grab to Yaowarat at night.
Stayed Asok first week — zero regrets. Chinatown felt overwhelming as a home base but perfect as a night trip.
