Genting from KL — Awana cable car, indoor theme park, mall city in the clouds. Different vibe from Cameron (less nature, more Vegas). Can combine Pahang trip: Genting 1 day, Cameron 2 days if you drive.

Batu Caves — arrive 7:30am before heat and tour buses. 272 rainbow steps, Murugan statue is absurd scale. Monkeys will grab food — no open bags. KTM Komuter from KL Sentral direct. Banana leaf lunch at foot of hill after. 1.5–2 hrs total.

Village Park nasi lemak SS21 Damansara Utama — queue by 10am weekends. Fried chicken rempah is the reason people drive across KL. No other branch, this is the one. PJ has the food, KL has the skyline — stay Selangor side if you eat more than you sightsee.

Klang bak kut teh — Teluk Pulai claypot on Jalan Batai Laut 5. Herbal soup, dry version interesting. Same street: handmade pau queue (always a line), chilli pan mee next door. This is a food street not a tourist one.

Sultan Salahuddin Blue Mosque Shah Alam — bigger than it looks in photos, free entry outside prayer times. i-City for night lights if you have kids. Selangor gets skipped for KL but Batu Caves alone justifies the state.

Sunway Lagoon full day with kids — book tickets online, weekday shorter queues. Pyramid mall next door for lunch AC. Stayed Subang/PJ area, Grab everywhere. PJ Old Town food map worth an evening if you skip another mall day.

Jalan Alor at 9pm — satay, grilled seafood, durian if you're brave. Tourist prices but still cheaper than home. Stayed Bukit Bintang specifically for this strip + Pavilion mall 5 min walk. AC walkway to KLCC takes ~20 min if you want towers without Grab in traffic.

KLCC with kids: park fountains in evening, Suria mall air con escape, Petronas skybridge tickets book online. Quieter than Bukit Bintang at night — we sleep better. Trade-off: less street food walkable, more Grab to Jalan Alor.

Changkat Bukit Bintang bars until 1am — book hotel high floor if light sleeper. Monorail from BB station to KL Sentral easy. Grab cheap off-peak, nightmare 5–8pm. Coworking at a cafe in Pavilion beats overpriced "nomad spaces".

Kampung Baru night market near KLCC — nasi lemak, ayam percik, real Malay food not mall version. Most tourists never go because it's not on the hop-on bus route. 10 min Grab from Twin Towers.

Merdeka Square + Sultan Abdul Samad building morning walk before heat. Then Central Market for souvenirs. BB feels like expat central — this area feels like KL. LRT Masjid Jamek connects both worlds.
