Rawai seafront: buy seafood from market stalls by weight (check scale, negotiate lobster per kg), then any waterfront restaurant cooks for 100–150 baht per kg service charge plus small plate fee. Total still beats tourist beach restaurant if you pick mid-price fish. Sunset east coast — no west-coast swim after. Taxi from Kata 300–400 baht. Avoid pushy stall bundling "special deal" you didn't choose. Best 5–7pm before stalls thin out.

Point at prawns, weighed, paid stall, walked 10 m to restaurant — 120 baht/kg cook fee.

Laem Hin pier alternative — sit-down, less market chaos, slightly pricier.
