George Town vs Batu Ferringhi for staying?

Couple, care more about food and murals than beach. Is Ferringhi worth it or stay central?

George Town 100% for food and murals. Ferringhi is resort strip — sunset drinks fine, but 30 min Grab each way for hawkers. UNESCO core is walkable; Ferringhi you need transport for every meal except hotel.

Split only if you want 2 beach nights. Otherwise GT + one Ferringhi afternoon. Traffic over the hill gets slow 5–7pm.

Stayed GT whole trip. Batu Ferringhi day trip once for beach — enough for us.

We booked Ferringhi first night by mistake — moved to Chulia Street next morning. No regrets.
