Kapitan on Chulia, Sup Hameed on Penang Rd, many New Lane stalls marked halal. Nasi kandar shops — look for JAKIM cert on wall. Gurney Plaza food court has halal counters but pricier. Little India strip reliable for late night.

Mixed hawker rows OK if you stick to Malay/Indian Muslim stalls with cert displayed. Chinese char kway teow stalls often not halal — ask before queueing.
