Ipoh between KL and Penang — stopover order?

10 days Malaysia. KL → Ipoh → Penang or reverse?

KL → Ipoh → Penang flows north — ETS connects all three. Ipoh 2–3 nights between KL skyscrapers and Penang island. Reverse fine too. Cameron Highlands branches from Ipoh direction if you add highlands — don't backtrack KL. Hotter than Penang — cave temples AM only.

KL → Ipoh → Penang by ETS — each leg 2–2.5 hr. Ipoh food reset before Penang crowds.
