Chalong for Coral/Racha (closest to Kata). Rassada Pier in Phuket Town for Phi Phi ferries. Most tours include hotel pickup — focus on operator reviews, not pier name on flyer. Nov–Apr calm seas; rough season they cancel.

Similans need advance booking peak season — different pier north side. Don't day-trip Similans from Kata without early start.
