Yes still stay heritage zone weekday — Jonker cafés and shophouses open, zero shoulder-bump, better photos Dutch Square 8am. You miss Fri/Sat night market stalls but Jonker 88 and chicken rice still run lunch. Ban Lee Siang weekday ideal. Cheaper hotel rates Mon–Thu. Outside hotel saves little if you walk heritage all day anyway.
