Staying in Chiang Rai city. What time should we leave to beat the Chiang Mai day-trip buses?

Arrive 8:30am — opens early, buses from Chiang Mai hit by 10am. 100 baht entry. It's contemporary art as much as temple — bizarre, beautiful. Staying in CR meant we spent 90 min, not rushed. Grab from city 20 min.
